Blake Shelton was born on June 18, 1976, in Ada, Oklahoma. He began singing from a young age and started playing the guitar at the age of 12. He wrote his first song when he was 15 years old, and by the time he graduated from high school, he had already performed at local bars and clubs.
Shelton moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in 1994 to pursue a career in country music. He landed a recording contract with Giant Records in 2001, and his debut single, "Austin," became a number one hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. He continued to release successful albums and singles throughout the early 2000s, including "Ol' Red," "The Baby," and "Some Beach."
In addition to his music career, Shelton has also appeared on various reality TV shows, including The Voice, where he has served as a coach since the show's inception in 2011. He has won multiple awards for his music and has been inducted into the Grand Ole Opry, one of the highest honors in country music.
